Description

Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Aziz in Petaling Jaya began in 1956 as a small wooden surau for 100–150 worshippers and was later rebuilt in the early 1960s with a concrete structure featuring an umbrella-shaped roof, increasing its capacity to 250–300. Officially inaugurated on 23 October 1964 by Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah and named in his honor, the mosque evolved alongside Petaling Jaya’s growth. To accommodate the expanding population and modern needs, the mosque was later redeveloped with updated facilities by its management committee.
