NURTURING A NEW GENERATION OF TOURISM INDUSTRY PRACTITIONERS THAT CHAMPIONS ISLAMIC TOURISM

Dato’ Dr. Mohmed Razip Haji Hasan, Director-General of Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) will speak to Santai Travel magazine’s Datuk Azlie Halim in #ApaKhabarTourism programme to discuss the potential of Islamic Tourism and development of youths to champion the concept

PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA, 23 JULY 2021: What’s the future of Islamic Tourism, its potentials, and the role of youths at its core? These are some of the topics to which Director-General of Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC), Dato’ Dr. Mohmed Razip Haji Hasan, will share his insights in the upcoming #ApaKhabarTourism online talk show organised by Santai Travel in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Kelantan.

Themed “Membina Generasi Peneraju Pelancongan Islamik” (Building a Generation that Champions Islamic Tourism), the Bahasa Melayu talk will be conducted in a casual question-and-answer (Q&A) style between the host, Datuk Azlie Halim, Founder of Santai Travel, and Dato’ Dr. Mohmed Razip.

Dato’ Dr. Mohmed Razip will share his passion for destination marketing, give insights into the future of Islamic Tourism and where it’s headed, and nurture interest in the niche Muslim tourist segment among the youth. He will also share his thoughts on why he thinks Islamic Tourism is the way forward for the young generation, and what tourism industry players can do to support the growth of a new generation of Islamic Tourism advocates.

Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) is an entity under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Malaysia tasked to develop the Islamic tourism (IT) segment for Malaysia. It advocates for Muslim-friendly tourism (MFT) by offering research and market intelligence, training, industry development consultation, Muslim-friendly tourism and hospitality (MFTH) services standards and certification, and information exchange.

Malaysia also retained the top-ranked destination in the Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2021, a position it has defended since the launch of the Index in 2015.

These recognitions are an added motivation for ITC to continue to strengthen its efforts in being a prime mover and leading institution to ensure Malaysia is at the forefront of MFTH.
