Constructed in 2013 at a cost of 4 million, the mosque sits on a 0.4-hectare land previously occupied by
Madrasah Muhammadiah built in 1973 by the late Hj. Abdul Latif bin Mohd Kassim and his seven
friends.
Muhammadiah Mosque, also known as the Chinese Muslim Mosque, in Taman Tasek Jaya here, has
become an instant tourist attraction among non-Muslims, particularly Chinese nationals, since it opened
its doors four days before Hari Raya in August ,2013
JAIPk is conducting Islamic religious classes twice a week for Chinese Muslims at the Malaysian
Chinese Muslim Association centre in Greentown here.
The mosque and its minarets are adorned with Chinese motifs with local touch. The roof and minaret
feature hibiscus flower designs, as opposed to the traditional peony flower, apart from the dragon motif
is synonymous with its Chinese heritage.
