Description

Masjid Al-Alami, MITC Melaka is located in Jalan Ayer Keroh Lama, Melaka International Trade Center (MITC), Ayer Keroh, Melaka. The mosque was built on 17th September 2001 on an area of 22 acres and was completed on 30 July 2003 with a construction cost of RM7.5 million.
The mosque which can accommodate a total of 3,000 worshipers has been officiated by Tun Abdullah bin Ahmad Badawi, former Prime Minister of Malaysia on October 19, 2004, corresponding to 5th Ramadhan 1425H.
This beautiful mosque is the idea of the Chief Minister of Melaka at that time YAB Dato’ Seri Mohd Ali bin Rustam. The building is square, with short towers at each corner. It features a two-tiered roof characteristic of early Sumatran-style mosques, and is crowned by a dome that ends in a finial. The design of the main roof is replicated in the roofs of the towers. Friezes on walls feature repeating geometric designs.
