Masjid Al-Azhar, located at Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS) in Bandar Seri Putera, is classified as an “Institution Mosque” as it sits within an Islamic higher education institution under the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS). Constructed between 1998 and 2000, it was officiated by Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah on 25 May 2002. Positioned at the heart of KUIS, it has welcomed prominent scholars from both local and international backgrounds. The mosque features a distinctive design, primarily Ottoman in style, with large domes, tall minarets, high ceilings, and spacious compounds, incorporating elements of Moorish, Arabic, and modern Malay architecture.
