The mosque was built for the resident of Bandar Baru Bangi in 1990s . It was inaugurated by DYMM Tengku Idris Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Sallehuddin Abd Aziz Shah Alhaj on 10th March 2000. The mosque was built with a modern architecture which consists of concrete bricks and roof tiles. There are two levels where by the ground floor of the prayer hall for men is filled with green, yellow and red carpet while the upper level is for the women. Air spaces are present on the walls to ensure good ventilation in the mosque. There is a large green dome and tall minaret built outside the building to symbolize the mosque as a sign of Islam.
The mosque is active in religious programs. Among the courses organized by the mosque are pilgrimage lectures, mortuary courses and conferences. The mosque also provides a Takaful service centre and clothing sales outlet within the mosque area. In addition, the facilities available at this mosque are spacious parking spaces, kids’ playgrounds as well as resting place and officials’ house.
