Description

Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, situated at the confluence of the Gombak and Klang Rivers in Kuala Lumpur, is the city’s oldest mosque, constructed in 1908 and inaugurated in 1909. Designed by British architect Arthur Benison Hubback, it showcases a unique blend of Mughal, Arab, and Moorish styles, with onion-shaped domes, twin minarets, and red-and-white brick arches inspired by North Indian Islamic architecture. The mosque features a spacious courtyard, marble columns, and colorful stained-glass windows. Set against the backdrop of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, it stands as a symbol of historical heritage and Islamic architecture in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
